Melissa Watkins
Being in the fitness industry, Melissa began her yoga journey with the intention of adding to her fitness toolbox and as a requirement for a Yoga for Scoliosis practicum she was following. However, she discovered that Anusara Yoga offered so much more, and now after receiving her Anusara Elements license, sees herself embracing the studentship of an ongoing practice. Melissa’s love for movement began as a dancer, which helped her to develop and understand the positive link between body, mind and spirit. From there she became certified in personal training, indoor cycling, group fitness and Dance Movement Therapy, teaching and coaching for 30+ years. Recently completing a Yoga for Scoliosis practicum with Elise Browning Miller, she is prepared to help people with scoliosis find balance in their bodies through yoga based exercises. What Melissa likes most about teaching is the emphasis on alignment of body, mind and heart, and the powerful connection to one’s true Self.
